Celebrations:


On Panchami the fifth day of Magh Shuklapaksh is celebrated as Vasant Panchami. The holy town of Vrindavan is awash with yellow to welcome the spring. Shri Radhavallabh Temple turned yellow and colourful. The fields are lush yellow with mustard flowers in full bloom, temples are decorated with yellow and orange marigold flowers and the people are decked in hues of the bright colour. This festivity marked the beginning of spring and end of winters Radhavallabh Lal adorns a lemon-yellow attire bejewelled with beautiful ornaments. The winter attire of gloves and warm coverings are removed. The throne is covered all around like a cradle decked in lemon yellow known as 'Dol' which is decorated with flowers with all types and colours of roses and other flowers.



Decorations and bhog:
The fragrance of rose changes the charm of the atmosphere. During Shringaar hours little amount of Gullal is sprinkled on devotees as a display of happiness and the upcoming festival of Holi. In 'Raj Bhog' Mal puas, kesar laddoo, balushahi, Kachori and other savouries are offered which are all yellow in colour. In the evening couplets of Holi are sung. These couplets describe that the festival of Holi is about to knock the doors of Vrindavan and add thrill in hearts of devotees.
