Significance of Baad Graam

The holy birth place of Sri Hith Harivansh Mahaprahu, the legend goes that Sri Vyas Mishra was accompanying Emperor on his march from Agra, his wife Tara, gave birth to a son at the Royal Army Camp at Baad Gram near Mathura.

On 11th day (Ekadashi) Monday of 'Baisakh'(April-May) in the Samvat 1530 corresponding to 10th. This brought significance to Baad Gram and it became a holy sacred place of worship in the coming centuries to presnt day.

Location of Baad Gram :-

The geographic location of Baad gram is situated mid way of Vrindavan and Mathura, the area lies in the rolling fertile plains of north central India. The general slope of the town is the northwest to southeast towards the river Yamuna.

Climate of Baad Graam :-

The enchanting birthplace of Harivansh is located 187 meters above sea level. The climate is essentially dry. The city experiences extreme summer and winter temperatures. The rainy season extends from July to September.

Hitotsav the birthday of Shri Hith Harivansh Mahaprabhu falls in the months of May / June on Baisakh Shudhi Ekadashi.

Thousands of devotees throng baad gram from all over places near by. The highly famous Holi festival in the months of February / March. Braj Holi songs are recited throughout the day.

• By Road: Baad gram bears a direct road link from Delhi to Agra; It is connected by Mathura by road and is at a 25km distance. It is also connected via buses to Mathura as well as these cities. Various tourist vehicles, taxis and mini buses are also available for a trip to this town.
