Holi played in Vrindavan is an exclusive example of the bond of friendliness and love, between the divine and the devotee. The dance and exult of Holi passes all the worldly boundaries of negative emotions to bring in the glory of divine existence within the soul. When Krishna played Holi with Radha and Gopis, the significance was that of bringing down the boundaries between God Himself and His true devotees.
Krishna’s Holi comprised beautiful holistic hymns, scented flowers and naturally colored water. It was not rather tainted with our eve teased Holi festival; which we tarnish by drinking alcohol and using chemicals, paint, grease etc., in order to fulfill our selfish joy of seeing someone cry of burns and inflammation.
This festival of delight and colors can be made as divine as that of Krishna, by the use of herbal infused colors made of vegetables and flowers along with water pools prepared out of floral extracts. Drinking ‘Thandai’ is a better option of sharing this clean and green festival with others.
Make this Holi festival more auspicious by surrendering one’s soul to the divine’s feet in Vrindavan and filling it with colors of love for family and friends.
